Collaborative workshop at the FCG-IGC

A workshop at the FCG-IGC last August, brought together three SymbNET research groups and invited guests, to discuss the analyses of host-microbe symbioses in the context of their natural environment.

The Engel, Schulenburg, and Teixeira groups work with different model organisms but share this common scientific focus. Their approaches encompass sampling and analyses in the natural environment, genomics of host and microbial symbionts, analyses of genetic variation, metabolomics, and the integration of these findings into controlled laboratory experiments.

During the workshop, each group presented their ongoing research and discussed future directions and potential opportunities for collaboration.
