Science, health and collaboration: a debate with the SymbNET researchers Karina Xavier, Isabel Gordo, and Luís Teixeira, who will talk with the public about Microbes and their impact in our lives at the IGC Open Day.

Karina Xavier (Bacterial Signalling Lab) – The microbiome – function and importance for our health.

Isabel Gordo (Evolutionary Biology Lab) – What are the characteristics of a bacterium capable of causing a pandemic? The danger of multiple antibiotic resistance and the quick spreading of bacteria.

Luís Teixeira (Host-Microorganism Interactions Lab) – Transmission vectors and the “One Health” concept.
